Who are we?

Woottens of Wenhaston is a traditional plant nursery that specialises Iris, Auricula, Pelargonium and Hemerocallis Established in 1991 by Michael Loftus the nursery has grown it’s collections from scratch and cares for some of the rarest species and historic plants available today.
The nursery is run by a small team of dedicated and knowledge staff headed up by new owners Gillian and Luci

Our plants

All our plants are grown organically at the nursery which is situated in rural Suffolk between the popular towns of Southwold and Halesworth.
Our Iris collection comprises of 600 different varieties of Bearded Iris particularly Historic Bearded Iris and a large collection of other species and hybrids. All cared for by Gillian, from the Iris fields to the pot grown stock
Our Primula auricula collection consists of over 1200 different varieties grown in 7cm pots that have been propagated and tended to by our expert grower, Jen.
Woottens very rare Pelargonium collection is cared for by Luci who also grows the nurseries Salvia and Chrysanthemum plants. This hands on approach means all plants we sell are grown and maintained by passionate plants people and monitored on a daily basis to ensure that they are well grown specimens that are true to form.

The Nursery

The Nursery is open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between March and October for viewing and sales. 10am-4pm
We offer an efficient mail order service and a collection service where customers can order online or over the phone to collect from the nursery any day except Sunday
We hold specialist open days throughout the year – details of which will be posted on our Events page.

We are signposted just off the A12 between Darsham and Blythburgh. Approximately 20 minutes from Southwold.
